Understanding BIM Compliance can be very overwhelming. The ins and outs of the BIM Execution Plans, BIM Modeling Matrix, or BIM specs can leave even the most seasoned BIM professional scratching their head. Universities, hospitals, and government agencies all have various requirements that they expect to be correct throughout the project. We know exactly where to look and what to look for. Many times the information in the specifications contradicts itself from one paragraph to another and even more so when referencing the client “standards” that are typically copied and pasted from job to job, without anyone thoroughly reviewing what they are asking for. When bidding a project, you want to make sure that you and your competitors are bidding the same requirement. Some BIM requirements can double the cost of the BIM and if you know what you are looking for then you can ask the questions to flush out the spec. Afterall, you don’t want to lose the job over misunderstanding of the information.
